Of all the musicals I’ve seen, I’d love to play two characters in particular, and one of them is Rizzo in GREASE (1978). This song is perfect in the shower! Sing it loud and strong ladies!
This intro always gives me the chills! It’s fantastic! The dancing is just soooo…. inspiring! I want a poodle skirt damn it!
Little Richard is fabulous!
Next on my list is STRIKE UP THE BAND (1940), starring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.
Being a HUGE Judy fan I had to pick at least one of the musicals she did with Mickey. And although all of them pretty much have the same plot, I always find myself watching this one over and over again. I love the songs and I love the plot— plus the ending is perfection!
The band nerd in me loves this scene!
Judy Garland singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in THE WIZARD OF OZ (1939).
Every single time I watch this, I cry. There’s just something about the way she sings this song that moves me to tears every single time. It’s just…perfect. =*)
This is a blog dedicated to my crazy obsession with musicals! I'll be posting videos, pictures, songs, quotes, and comments spanning the 100 years of musical cinematic genius!
