Fuckyeahmusicalfilms Favorite Dance Sequences » Pick Yourself Up, Swing Time (1936) Performed by Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers
This whole dance is in my ipod, I just can’t get enough of it. I can’t get over how easy they make this look, and how every time I watch it, I catch a new little side step or gesture or facial expression I had never seen before. They’re both dancing geniuses and it seems to come to them without the slightest bit of effort. Ugh.
Reason #21 Why Swing Time is My Favorite
This dance is complete perfection. Not only does Ginger look gorgeous in that dress that reminds me of the dress Roxy complained about in CHICAGO (2002), her arm movements and her high-heel taps are truly mesmerizing. Every time they hop over that railing I can’t help but smile!
Not to mention that this dance is one of their most famous!
“[Swing Time has] some of the best dances that have ever been choreographed in the history of the universe.”
